Aug 19 2010 by Mark Dowling, Flintshire Chronicle
A RANGE of high-quality photographs were in the frame to win awards as Mold Camera Club held its annual awards ceremony.
The event was held in Buckley Library on Tuesday and featured 67 images from 20 members taken in portrait, landscape and digital methods, displayed on the walls of the building.
And the club crowned the winner of the contest via the overall print of the year, won by William Furse.
His traditional framed print captured a detailed portrait of a barn owl.
Publicity officer Eric Keen said: “We have internal competitions each month among our members and we also have competitions involving members from across North Wales and Merseyside, so there are quite a few people who take part in this.”
Mold Camera Club will restart its series of meetings from September, to be held every Monday at 7.30pm.
Meetings will take place at Catrina House, Victoria Road, Mold. For more details on joining the club, contact programme secretary Bob Morgan on 07971 040411 between 6pm and 7.30pm on Mondays only.
